Spring 2007 Fashion Shown at New York Fashion Week

New York Fashion Week is up and running. The trends for Spring 2007 will be short, short, short. Designers from Bill Blass to Carolina Herrera to Cynthia Steffe are showing short thigh skimming dresses and skirts. The volume that we're seeing in fall 2006/winter 2007 designs are expected to continue into Spring 2007 designer styles and according to some we can look for even more volume, such as what are being called "baby bubble dresses".

The most comical of these bubble type dresses belongs to designer Marc Jacobs who is known for his outrageous styles. Designers are showing favoritism towards styles with an emphasis on an empire bust line as seen in a Carolina Herrera floral print dress. Bill Blass showed a lovely fawn linen two piece ensemble of a short skirt and mid thigh length jacket very unstructured and loose fitting.

Femininity will be key in springs styles and the use of soft fabrics of swiss dots and eyelets. Cynthia Steffe is showing cigarette and pencil pants under dresses and under large white tops accessorized with large belts.
