J Jill Catalog Fashion Fall 2006

I love my catalogs. I always have. I can look at them for hours and I love to shop from them. I guess you could call me a catalog-a-holic.

I got another the other day, a J. Jill catalog.

Used to be, a long time ago that J. Jill didn't offer much in the way of color or style. Everything was very earth toned, and more suited to what I'd call bohemian or "natural girls" with lots of shapeless styles and yards of fabrics. This still offer these bohemian styles, but some have been updated along the way.

The new catalog still shows what I consider shapeless sacks of dresses and long voluminous skirts. Where I think they make their mark is with the more feminine and shapely fashion tops and blouses.

They have some lovely fitted crinkled silk shirts and a really cute cross-over wildflower shirt. They have many feminine and flirty cotton shirts and a heriloom lace jacket that has a lovely cut away style. They have a cotton retro jacket with two large buttons that they've paired with five pocket pants.

Of course it isn't Boston Proper where clevage abounds, but there are still some nice pieces in the J. Jill catalog that can be incorporated into your wardrobe for Fall 2006.
